Not sure if this is the correct place to post this or not.  I have a .NET 3.5 Twain scanning application.  The application is crashing on user computers intermittently.  When this happens users have to End Task to get the application to close.  After digging through logs we discovered group policy updates are causing the application to crash/freeze if the user is currently scanning while the gpudate happens.  If the users turn off multi-threaded scanning the application is sluggish during the group policy updates but it doesn't crash.  Any idea what kinds of computer/user policies might kill a background worker thread that is actively scanning?

I have created a VM not attached to our network and the gpupdate does not crash the application.  So I'm fairly sure it's one of the policies in our environment causing the issue.
