When trying to complete the edit, (clicking on save after entering the data and selecting an avitar) the program comes back with the screen unable to save please try again later, but, doing it later does not work either.  What am I or what is it doing wrong?

It's possible that the save is failing as the file size is larger than 1 MB. Try uploading a file size less than 1 MB and see if this works.
