A number of users within the firm have reported that they are unable to open up any word or excel documents held on our intranet pages. However PDF’s documents are unaffected. Users are not being prompted with the usual download prompt box to download from either application.

• Configured Windows updates and set to show same settings as a working PC.
• Had user log onto another PC and does not have the same issues.
• Had user download a Word Document from an Internet Site which successfully downloaded and opened in its correct application and format.
• Deleted Font Cache.
• Checked SharePoint OpenDocuments Class

All of the above actions still present the user with the error message warning.

Hi Brannigan- are they using the same version of Office? Make sure you have the latest updates installed. Try running the browser in compatibility mode to see if that makes a difference.
