Since upgrading from vista 32 bit home premium to windows 7  I cannot now backup nor create any restore points using the generic programme, I had no problems with vista. I have tried several times and each time the process comes to a halt with a different error message, for exampe one was "the shadow copy provider had an error  0x80042306"  other error messages have come up (80070057. 81000019). Sometimes the process stops after about 7% completion and sometimes it get further, eg 60% but it always just stops.  I am trying to backup to an external hard drive with plenty of space. I am just a domestic user and don't have a particularly deep knowledge of PC's although I can get around the basics so any help would be much appreciated
