I've tried to download Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition but when I tried to install it I never saw its window though the process was running.  After about twelve hours I shut down the PC.  When I tried to install it again the next day the installer told me the programme I was trying to run required a newer version of Windows.  But I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and it is fully up to date.  I don't really know any thing about this software and am only trying to install it to see the results of some code my programmer's been implementing in a computer game we're developing, so I apologise in advance if I'm doing something very ignorant.  Cheers.

There's a difference between downloading and installing.

Downloading would be downloading the ISO copy for install at a later time.

Have you checked the event logs on the PC in question? Possibly you should have your programmers assist you since they may not be so ignorant of systems.
