I have written my article on my game (Hit Ball) for app innovation contest and i have submitted the update of that article today ...but the update is not published yet ....I have a doubt that updation process takes place at weekend ...is that true ?

It varies - at weekends the process can be slower because fewer people who normally moderate articles are here.

Plus at the moment there are a lot of competition entries and updates to them being posted, and it requires 5 votes to get each through.

Have patience. It will be got to eventually.

I just checked, and you need a *LOT* more patience.
You waited 8 minutes between posting your update and posting this question asking when it would be moderated through. Even on a normal day, I do not expext such approval in less than an hour, and normally a several.

Definitely have some patience - we do not get paid for this, and complaining without any good reason is a very good way to annoy people!
