I have a Panasonic NV GS27 Camcorder and according to the Panasonic help desk my camcorder did not come with any software as it was to keep cost down, I was so relieved that I didn't loose the CD after all :)

So I loaded windows Vista and plugged camcorder in via the usb, and sure enough windows detected it and said it was installing the drivers for it via web, brilliant I thought, my email from the help desk also told me that once I have the correct drivers installed I should be able to download videos off my camcorder onto pc with windows movie maker.

But the best I can currently get is when I plug in the camcorder with the usb in the top left hand corner of the camcorder say "WEB" as I guess I could use it as a web cam SO its obviously install some of the drivers but not the ones I want to get the videos off the camera.  And of cause its the old style of camcorder that uses tapes.  Many thanks for any help :)
