I have developed a Windows Form application that has a app.config configuration file with confidential settings, I found a solution that is to encrypt a section of the configuration file with the ProtectSection function.

But my concern is that a person can copy the project and will apply the UnprotectSection function so it access to confidential information.

How to protect it ???

Without the key, the copy is worthless.  Thus just use the appropriate key, this is all you can do.
