I am trying to buy a domain from App services -> my web app -> custom domains -> Buy domain and in the app service domain page, in the search for domain box i search for any domain and it is searching for hours without suggesting available domains.

As a workaround have you tried going to the create resource option and searching for app service domain and creating the domain through that work flow?
