I recently upgraded an app to LS 2012 and now when I run the app I get a blank screen with no menu's or screens. The app is a desktop app and does not run in the web browser. When I check IntelliTrace I can see an exception which shows an error message of:

If I create a new app and debug it runs just fine. The problems seems to be somewhere in this solution. I've read a few articles about making sure the SQL Instance name is set to "(LocalDB)\v11.0" and making sure that the app dev folder has modify set for my PC-NAME\Username which it does. I also read somewhere that if chrome is your default browser that could be a problem. However as mentioned before, it's a desktop app and anyhow my default browser is IE10.

That exception is probably not causing whatever problem you are having. If I remember correctly, the exception is thrown three times on application startup and is not thrown again later. You should just ignore the PlatformNotSupportedExceptions. You will also encounter an ObjectDisposedException every time data is loaded, so you can ignore that one as well.
