I'm new to MS Visual. Net and I am also lost. Years ago I played with VB and I was able to write a few programs. Nothing complicated and I struggled. With MS Visual Net there are all these new addons and I have no idea what there used for and when to used them. I spent days trying to figure out how they interact with one other, which ones to use and which ones not to. I would like to write a program that would allow me to check the I/O and status pins of a parallel port, 64 bit using MS Visual. Net 2015. I looked everywhere on the internet that I could not anything I could understand. A lot of it was over my head. I would like to check all of the pins. The output pins, input pins, change input to output and vise a verse and look at the status pins. So my question is this and I know its a lot to ask. Does anyone have a program like this so I can see whats going on in the code and get a better understanding of what to add and which ones I don't need. I mainly have a back round in programming PLC'c, electronics laying out control and power wiring specify out sensors and control panels. I realy would like to learn how to program starting and if I find comes easy to me after a while the try one of the other languages.
