Hi I was wondering anybody can tell me where can I find information on how to access the harddrive at low level, want to experiment a little in creating a defragmenter, or to see how i can defragment a single file.

I have seen many programs, like diskkeeper, perfect disk, the defragmenter of the windows, saying how my files are fragmented, but would like to know how this can be done, even if its just a simple file and from there i can see how i can implement it for the whole hard drive.
