I have created a Smart tag using VS 2008 following the Smart tag SDK 2003 documentation. For deploying the application i searched and found that security can be set for managed Smarttags using framework v1.1.4322 only and not using v2.0.50727. If a deployment PC has dot net 3.5 then the framework v1.1.4322 folder does not have CASPOL.exe and setting security using v2.0.50727 returns success but is of no use.

On my development PC , i had Dot net 2.0 previously installed so the framework folder v1.1.4322 had CASPOL in it and the smart tag gets installed properly. On any other machine with dotnet framework folder v1.1.4322. having CASPOL.exe , the smarttag gets installed. But if the pc has directly installed v3.5 then the v1.1.4322 has only 2 filess and CASPOL is not present.
Then i installed dot net framework 1.1 on a PC where there was dotnet 3.5 installed . So now the PC has framework 1.1 with Caspol .When i try to set the CASPOL , it returns success but the Smart tag doesnt show up in Word.
Please help me out !!!!
