My preliminary analysis about this integration tool seems to be developed for Desktop. I don't think so you can reuse this assembly in SharePoint 2016 and as well in SharePoint Online.

You have to go so long to convert this application into MVC and then adding or injecting the SharePoint Provider hosted authentication and authorization code.
