We have several sharepoint-farms. Production, Staging, Dev1 and Dev2.

When we create service accounts, can we use the same service accounts to multiple farms?
For production I fully understand that those should be unique to that farm and not used anywhere else.

But for the other environments, can we use the same accounts there? It's the same group of people that work in all the other three farms.

Though the same users are working in the mentioned farms, from isolation perspective each farm should have its own service accounts.

One classic example of having the same service account(SP_Search) in multiple farms would be -  If the account is locked out for some reason, the service(Say Search) would be down in all the farms. This is not really the best practice.

So from an isolation perspective each farm should have dedicated service accounts.
