Hi, Not sure if this is where I need to post this question. I am new to this forum. I have been having problems with our xp proffessional computer crashing. I have had to reformat the entire computer 3 times now. The computer works fine after I reformat, until windows does its updating and it then crashes again. This is part of the message I receive.
A problem has been detected & windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file. PartMgr.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

This forum is actually for reporting issues/bugs relating to the forums themselves. Unfortunately you probably won't find a lot of help for your problem here.
I'm no expert in diagnosing blue screens, but I did find the following article which suggests some common causes of the stop code you are receiving:

You could also post your question in the Windows XP newsgroups (I would suggest the hardware section) http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware&cat=en_US_8288eeac-739b-4d5a-9ce9-ee7f27ed3b40&lang=en&cr=US
Faulty ram is a common cause of blue screens... if your system can stay up long enough, try running a memory diagnostic tool. There is one available here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/ms793437.aspx
Did you install/upgrade any of your hardware or software prior to this problem starting?
Have you been able to narrow down a specific update that is causing your system to blue screen?
Have you checked your event log? ("How to" guide: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427)
