I'm developing an application that has a calendar function for scheduling jobs E.g. Fixed calednar: monday tuesday at 5pm job1; wednesday thurday at 10am job2, etc .... But at the same time the fixed calendar can be "overruled" by manual (via webapp) intervention. These scheduled jobs are  for executing tasks on sensors attached to a microcontroller.

I was thinking of creating a .NET Windows Service for this app. Is this a good option or are there better options? I suppose what solution it is all the scheduled jobs (date, time, job to be executed) must be loaded in RAM (at every change of the schedule)?
