I am creating an external content type from an SQL view in SharePoint Designer. For some reason, a field is wrongly made an identifier in the "Read Item" operation even though it is not a primary key in database table. Does anyone know why?

When I uncheck "map to identitier", I get an error saying "Each identifier must be mapped to a different data source element".

When you unchecked existing identifier, you should specify another key as identifier, otherwise, you will  see ‘Each identifier must be mapped to a different data source element’ error.
