My colleague and I made a YouTube tutorial for how to set up an AAD that authenticates users into two web apps via SSO. If you are looking for simple AAD authentication without VMs, then you can set that up in the portal in a matter of minutes.

If you want to authenticate users using ADFS or PTA, that will require additional setup. If you want to have a Windows AD synced with an Azure AD, Pass-Through authentication will offer the fastest setup. You will need at minimum a Sync VM and a Domain Controller and you can set up AD Connect on the Sync VM to sync users from the Windows Domain Controller into your Azure AD. I can link instructions for this if you are interested, but if your goal is simply to set up an AAD, then my video should suffice.
