I am one IT undergtaduate and in developing my component in our final research project, it is needed to caluculate the approximate distance for the actual object from the camera (android phone camera), using one or multiple images of it taken by the camera. Please help me, does anyone know a possible way of doing it in openCV ????? It is bit emergency case....

Please see my comment to the question. I don''t have complete information on your setting, but forget it. Take a sheet of paper and a pencil, draw imaging of the same object at different distances on the sensor in the most simplified way, then use simple school geometry and a bit of common logic.

Emergency? Well, what I suggest would be faster than making rounds by asking questions and requesting clarifications…
