I am new to asp.net programming. although I have well versed in VB 6.0 and sqlserver 2000-20008. I would like to develop dynamic web applications.

some sites give us static web templates for free or for money.

A quick learner? Good. Get a Visual Studio or install free Visual Studio Express product called Visual Web Developer Web Express:

You can also go to http://www.asp.net/get-started[^] and install everything from there. You can use this resource to learn the technology. You can also go to Downloads page and download some free ASP.NET applications such as Wiki, eCommerce, etc.

Done? Now go to the menu and create a new Web site using File => New => Web Site… from one of the available templates. As you tagged ASP.NET, start from choosing "ASP.NET Web Site", give a name and a directory for your project. You will get a skeleton of your site, fully-functional working environment, with development HTTP server, debugger for your server-side and client-side code, detailed MSDN help on all items.
