Internet Explorer 9.0 has developer tools that can be used as a starting point. There is also dynaTrace that can be used.

If you really want detailled profiling of the server code (and not just a global idea of the time taken to display a page), then there are a lot of tools but most are not free and I haven''t test any tool in the context of web page except the two mentionned above and also LINQPad for testing some Linq-To-SQL requests.

Up-to-now, these are the only tools I have used in my MVC application but I haven''t yet tried how much request it would be able to handle... I have mainly optimized some complex SQL requests for some relatively frequent operations.
