I have read a book "Visual Basic .NET Step by Step" and I taught all the basics, which is what I play with at work everyday but only as a hobby. But I need a concrete book that will help me to understand C# and C++ as well. I had an O''reily''s C++ reference which nice but some homo ganked it from me. So my question is, I need two(2) books that will define, be concrete, gives examples as well as projects for me top play with, possibly have a quiz inside and also help improve my study even as a beginner with some background fiddling with the language, understanding assemblies, exceptions, buffers memory allocation, api etc. I need a book that will also allow me to work in a visual studio environment as well preferably vs2010+.

Hello,I suggest you to use "visual C# 2005:how to program,2nd ed,2006"writed by"H.M.Deitel and P.G.Deitel.Although it belongs to vs2005 but it is very clear and very useful for beginers,becides ,you may find other editions belonging to 2010.
