i am using ms visual studio 2008 and on local server there is not any error but after uploading on web server there is an error of web.config file of set customeerror mode ="off" instead of "remoteonly" i have done this change but that error still remains.

Rarely it was happened to me, I did a minor change(Just removed a space) & saved the file. Another time I did IIS Restart. And then it worked for me.

If you have access to the webserver per Remote Desktop (or physical access), you can look into the Windows Event Log at the Application log, there you should see detailed error information about the occured exception.

If you have too many events in the log, you can use the filter functionallity and filter for ASP.NET 2.0.xxx or ASP.NET 4.0.xxx sources. All unhandled exceptions will be shown as application warnings.
