Can someone point me to some website with some more advanced information?

I''m currently doing some research on things like this. I would have to set up some pretty smart piece of software, that''s capable to combine information in a map and fusion it to one object (if that makes any sense).

EDIT: 2 data sets - slight difference in values. How do I combine them to be one object? I have read some about information integration, record linkage, object identification (there are much more names for this one thing).

So how do I get an approach on this? There are different algorithms explained around some really theoretic university studies - but non of them has a practical part.
