Iam using microsoft visual studio 2008.But i cant add crystalreport.rpt because it is unavailable in Add new item window.What to do ?Is any components extra required?

Did you try looking under the "Reporting" section? Look in the left hand side panel of the "Add new item" dialog: it is near the bottom.

Are you using the Express edition of Visual Studio?
If so, then Crystal Reports will not work. Ever. Under any circumstances. Microsoft have made it this way: MSDN[^]

Your only way to do it is to stop using the Express edition and buy a "full" version which includes CR or then use a 30 day trial of CR or buy that as well (depends on which version of VS you get).
