I am a final year BCA student. I want to do something different and simple project using C or .Net which will help my career. Please guide me.

Unless you are pretty certain you can com up with something that has a genuine recognizable value, simple and different will probably do more to hurt your career opportunities than help.

You could do something that would demonstrate your capabilites as a developer, do something useful, and at the same time involve a number of people during the planning and design stages. This would allow you to demonstrate both technical and social skills - something that''s often quite important to potential employeers.
