I am using ajax timer outside update panel.
Timer_tick event fired twice after every 5 seconds.

My Issue is why it fires twice after 5 seconds?

I know the interval its my setting like interval=5000 but why it fires twice together is a mystery.

Is this why my application get hanged???

Are you sure it does that?

How long does it take to process the tick? That time must be subtracted from the interval.
So if your processing takes a few seconds, it will appear the timer fires twice, when in fact the ticks come 5 seconds apart.
