I am confused. You tagged your question ASP.NET but you mention PHP. Javascript cannot be used to count how many users are on a site. It''s clear you know close to nothing about web development, did you write this site ? Javascript runs on the client. The server needs to keep track of how many sessions exist, and even then, it has to use some sort of timeout mechanism to make sure it removes users who don''t follow the logout process, assuming one even exists.
