I think we do need more specifics.

If by "system" and "transferred" you mean that you have a set of resources (like individual computers) that could be mobile in an organization, then it wouldn''t be so hard to set up a program that broadcasts that computer''s name every day to a central server or repository which records that information. If you have your different organizations set up by IP address subnet, you could have a record of the machine name and IP address that you could look up at any time.

Or, you could do it the old fashioned way and just keep a record of asset tags in an excel spreadsheet. Just use a different tab for each system. Sometimes the most low tech way is the best.

But I would need more information as to what you are trying to do.
