If your container doesn't inject the EntityManager for you, you can get one with:

EntityManagerFactory factory;
factory = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("jpatest");
EntityManager em = factory.createEntityManager();

Where "jpatest" from the unit defined in your persistence.xml
