I'm trying to build a messaging app with Rails 5 ActionCable, but I'm getting the above error in the JS console.

Make sure you have
<%= action_cable_meta_tag %> inside application.html.erb
Also,
config.action_cable.url = "ws://localhost:3000/cable" inside config/environments/development.rb
