I'm populating an array with songs that match a specific criteria.

  NSArray *songs = [[[MPMediaQuery alloc] init] items];
  NSMutableArray *filteredSongs;

You can use the NSComparisonResult to sort by album title. This should handle nil albumTitle values and push them to the back.
