I need to sign in to Visual Studio Community 2015 so my trial period does not expire.

I may have found a workaround. On the sign in to Viusal Studio page instead of using the Sign in button I used add an account... and was able to add my MS account that way without showing the stupid useless popup which was blocking me before. My license now appears to have been updated.
