I know this question has been asked a lot but I still have not found an answer.  I have tried almost everything I can find on the web with no luck.  I only develop in C# so all the web cache and asp suggestions do not help.  I've also tried "SET NO-DEBUG_HEAP=1" which might have helped a little but it is only supposed to help when running apps from the command line which I never do.  I do not want to uninstall and reinstall win 7 or VS.  I do use a third party tool kit from Resco.  I can say that VS2008 worked fine for a long time, even with Resco tools installed.  Then one day it just started running really slow.  Typical symptoms:

I have to stick with VS2008 because I do mostly WM development work for industrial handhelds (no phone stuff).

I've also shut down my virus scanning software and this did not help speed things up.
