We recently upgraded from SharePoint 2010 to 2013 and now we can't enter any data in list fields with multiple lines of text. The field caption is there, but the field itself seems to be missing. We have an existing Issues List that uses a "Comment" field like this and I can see the appended comments, but can't add any new ones.

I've tried various options such as turning appending on/off, using plain text, rich text, etc., and there is no difference. I've also created a new list with a similar comment field and I have the same issue.

I have done a test in my SharePoint and i cannot  reproduce your issue.

After migrate from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013, when i add new items, i can enter data in list fields with multiple lines of text.
