I have created a database that I am going to email to the customer to
preview. How can I lock the software so the customer does not take it
and use it without paying me. I tried to setting allow additions/
deletions on the form but that kept my form from showing?

Also this is the first time I have created a database for anybody and
would like to know what I tell him the price will be if he likes the
preview? I don''t want too ask to much but I don''t want to ask too
little either

Based on my limited experience, companies tend to be legal with their
licenses, some are fanatical about it. What does it benefit a company
to be using illegal software?

What you might want to make sure you do is send an MDE, not MDB. Unless
they are paying for your code, the product is what you are selling.

I suppose you could put some code in it to limit the number of records.
Also check out Directives,Compiler in help. You could create a #Const
for Demo = True/False. Then you are getting away from trust.

Is this for a friend, a small business, a big business, one that you
will sell to others? Will you be doing enhancements? How much work
have you put into it? How valuable is it to him or other companies?
How valuable is your time? You don''t want to price it so high he''ll
pass on it yet not so low you beome a slave to the project. You do have
to pay taxes, and there''s overhead. What do you think is fair? You
might want to say "I worked x amount of hours on this project. My
hourly rate is y dollars. My price for this work (if you want to give a
discount) is z dollars. I will do additional work at my current rate".
You really should negotiate beforehand. Live and learn, I guess.
