My name is Leyla, accountant, totally lost in this code world :)

I'm here because I dream about changing a little bit my world. I live in the south of France, I participated in a startup weekend where my project was chosen from 40 projects presented. In any case, I really believe that there is an opportunity to help the immigrant population in France and maybe in the world (you never know and after all, why not!). So that is my project. I'm super motivated because I have done many volunteer work with expats and immigrants, I know there is a real need. I been my self expats twice : in San Francisco and now in France.
You may know that the extreme droit is coming back, so really feel that I should do something. in any case, my idea is to develop an application to help accelerate the integration and to empower expats. Easy!

So I was wondering, since money isn't available right now:) how can I motive someone to work with me to develop the application. Where should I pitch my idea?
I definitely need someone who is motived by the idea, and the feeling and power of helping others.

Could you please recommend a way; a site; or how, to motivate a software developer to collaborate, be a partner, to volunteer for my project? Basically, I want to share my project with some one passionated, because alone, i not going anywhere.

Maybe this may help, I live in the south of France, in the beautiful region of Languedoc Rousillon, so I can offer a room for your next vacations and french & spanish classes.

The best case is to target the "to be graduated" students in universities. They are really passionate about doing projects and you can motivate them for your app. Moreover, they would get work experience as well.

I don't think a Software Developer would work for you after he works for 8 to 10 hrs a day in a company. He/she might work, in case it creates revenue, otherwise I don't think he/she would agree.

The other way would be to find an investor for your project. I strongly believe you can find one. Meet some guys with big businesses, explain the idea to them. You can also attend any Invest Conference in your region to meet those guys as well.

Some sites or their owners do invest, but I am not aware of those. Wait for answers from other members.

Forget it. You don't even have enough respect to understand that people do not "code", they do highly creative work called software engineering and software development (of course, I mean only those who are talented, wise, hard-working and can make a super team). In other words, your request sounds like a clear demotivator to good talented workers. Maybe you have to think about it. And learn something.
