We are currently exploring the technical options for integrating a Real Time Map component for our Enterprise Application which is built on UWP.

Does Bing Map API service support offline caching of Map data at least to some extent and is there any other possible mechanisms available for the same ? We could not able to find appropriate information on the official documentations. Please let us know, thanks

The UWP map control does support offline operation, but only for road mode. It does not support offline map rendering for Aerial mode or Streetside mode due to the volume of data. Even a small city area would require 10's of GB of data just for Aerial imagery at all levels of detail, much more than that for Streetside imagery which averages 100's of MB per linear km of roads.

For Road mode, there is an API available to download the region of interest when online, after which it will operate offline. Other map features like search and routing will also work offline. If you have your own aerial imagery available, this could be supplied by the application as a tile layer and would work offline.
