I have a couple of queries related to Azure Backup solution. Can someone please assist on the same:

1. Does Azure native backup allow to store data in BLOB Storage (to leverage HOT/COOL/ARCHIVE tiers)? As per the Azure documentation and pricing calculator, the data is stored in General Purpose V1.

I believe, the only alternative is to use 3rd party backup solution like Commvault, Veeam, etc.

2. Does Azure allow Azure VM snapshot using 3rd party backup solution?

1. If your intent is to use the Archive feature of Azure Storage for the backed up data, this is something we consider as feature request which is on our backlog for future development in the Azure Backup area. Stay tune for the updates!

2. We recommend using the native Azure VM backup solution for snapshots. Given the vested interest, we would like to understand your scenario and the need to use 3rd party solution for snapshots.
