Hello,

We are able to fetch permissions of O365 group's SiteCollection using Sharepoint online REST API if Global administrator or SharePoint administrator is added as owner of a siteCollection.

If Global administrator/SharePoint administrator is not assigned as owner then permissions of O365 group's siteCollection are not fetched.

We want to know whether this scenario of adding SharePoint administrator or global administrator as owner of a site collection is right or wrong?

Also, is there any alternate way of providing the necessary privilege to user with role : SharePoint administrator or Global administrator in order to fetch the permissions of a O365 group's siteCollection.
