I am trying to understand some strange behavior in PowerPoint 2016 related to pareto charts.  Please take a look at the two test cases in this .zip file:

When viewed in PowerPoint 2016 (version 16.0.6868.2067), you'll notice that the test case style1_round_cap.pptx has a rounded cap on the pareto line whereas style1_flat_cap.pptx has a flat cap.

The only difference between these two tests is in charts/style1.xml.  style1_round_cap.pptx specified a pattern fill for the shape properties for the dataPoint style element whereas style1_flat_cap.pptx specifies a solid color fill for the dataPoint style element.  In particular, notice that there are no changes related to line properties!

So, what I'm trying to understand is where the rounded line cap on style1_round_cap.pptx comes from.  I cannot locate any information in the spec that seems to indicate that a pattern fill on the dataPoint style implies a rounded line cap on the pareto line.  For such changes, I would expect the cap attribute of the a:ln tag to be specified.
