So my friend wants me to fix this netbook(Wireless Book) for her(This is all she has and can afford). What is happening is that after boot, I double click on My Computer and receive this message: "application explorer.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down." When I click OK, it freezes the entire system except I can still move the mouse cursor. What is weird is that behind the error message looks to be an internet explorer window. The only way to exit this is to shut down. So when it comes on again, I doubleclick on the Internet Explorer icon and receive a similar message: "application iesample.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down." It looks to me as if IE took over association of certain filetypes. How would I go about fixing that without reinstalling everything(I wouldn't have the discs or software to do so and I doubt she does). I am from the Windows world and have 0 experience with CE. I figured I would update the software but it looks to be a lot of work(downloading and installing VS2005, etc). I would like to update this to R3 and see if that helps. Are there any prebuilt images I can use? Any ideas?
