What is the get-around for this confusing and unhelpful error?  Other than running SQL profiler, is there anyway to actually understand what the error is complaining about? 

I had similar problem with EDI agreements, and I ended up using T-SQL to a delete row (or two) from the BusinessIdentity table, which was a little scary. 

When you click the down arrow to show the available items to select from, where is that being populated from?
