So when I ran the Kinect v2 Configuration Verifier it says

Supported USB 3.0 detected but with unknown bandwidth Kinect may or may not work. Will Kinect work one mine or not? Has anyone having Lenovo y510p got it working?

Depending on whether or not you have other devices sharing the same bandwidth as the USB3 chipset host controller that will be used for Kinect.
