I have built (with no errors) an SDK for my working platform in platform builder. The install of the SDK works with no errors.

* no project or solution appears in the Solution Explorer
* the directories were created, the pp.vcproj was created (not fully, however), the solution file was NOT created, no other files were created
* if I load the pp.vcproj file I get:
"The project consists entirely of configurations that require support for platforms which are not installed on this machine. The project cannot be loaded."

Other notes: platform runs fine on target; other projects can be created, including Smart Device projects; I have tried installing the SDK using Custom and Complete.
