We developed windows desktop application some time ago for Windows 7, the application do multiples tasks for users e.g updating registry entries, copying files in SysWOW64/System32 folder, adding/updating Excel Add-Ins, copying files in ProgramData folder, installing child applications in Program Files (x86) folder and etc. Due to beefed up security in Windows 7 by Microsoft we have elevate the application to administrative privileges thru embedded manifest. Now we have to move to Windows 10, is it plausible to give any exe highest available privileges by default??? What are the recommendation by Microsoft in this regard??? What are the other ways to achieve all these tasks by staying in normal privileges in Windows 10???
