I've got a C# programming student coming to visit the office to see what 'real' programmers do on a daily basis.

I want to him to leave at the end of the day feeling excited about development.

What do you think would be good things to show him, or talk with him about, to give him a taste of a real dev environment?

On second thoughts, forget the last one if you want him excited rather than angry.

In reality, it's going to depend how far he is in his course: if he hasn't met databases yet, then there is no point showing him what you can do with Linq to SQl foe example.
It's also going to depend on what you actually do as a company. If you design Star Wars figures, or make chocolates then what you can do differs from what you could show him if you produce accountancy software. In the later case, I'd just not mention what you do as you'll probably bore the poor sod to death...:laugh:

So in essence, we can't really help here: too much depends on him and you! Sorry.
