First of all, I am sorry to tell you that Visual Studio 6.0 has expired and out of the mainstream support lifecycle. Please reference here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/lifecycle/search/?p1=3042 .

If possible, I recommend you install the latest VS version for a more efficient and convenience development or working, there is download link: https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/ .

Also, you could choose earlier version of VS which is suit for your OS. About system requirement: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/productinfo/vs2017-system-requirements-vs .
