Hi,
I'm using a Win TV HVR 2210. It is a dual tuner and I am able to watch and record 2 channels simultaneously using the Win TV 7 application. However, if I try to create to separate jobs in EE4, using different tuners, I get an error "Cannot create device. Device in use by another program" for the second job. This should not happen because the device has 2 tuners (and I am using the other tuner). Incidentally, when I look in the Video device drop down, I see 2 video devices with exactly the same name. This, makes things a bit confusing - thus when I setup 2 jobs, in one case I use the first listed video device and the next case I use the second listed video device.
Kindly let me know what is going wrong.

Hello,
From your description, it sounds as if the device driver doesn't support multiple programs to access it at once. Even though the device has two tuners, they are controlled by a single driver. Some drivers support multiple applications to access them while others do not. Encoder only supports capturing of a single stream at a time. You can see both tuners in encoder and should be able to add them both as sources but you would only be able to capture from one at a time with encoder. You could verify this by having encoder capture from one tuner and try to access the other tuner with software that comes with the card or windows media center.
